help unlock the ministry potential of timber!
help unlock the ministry potential of timber!
the vision
In a time of unprecedented ministry needs, there is untapped potential in timberland assets across the country. These assets can be dedicated to meet the needs of hundreds of Kingdom opportunities. Imagine the profound and eternal impact if these timber assets were regularly dedicated to support ministry endeavors.
the challenge
A significant challenge in utilizing timber to support Christian causes is the long maturation period of many timber tracts. This process often requires 15 years or more before tracts are ready for harvest, thereby limiting their benefit to ministry.
Imagine the eternal impact timber could make for so many ministries!
the solution
To unlock the tremendous potential of timber gifts, we have established the Christian Timber Fund. This fund consolidates gifted timber tracts into a comprehensive timber management strategy, enabling annual harvests from a portion each year. Each donated tract is incorporated into the fund based on its assessed value, representing a portion of the fund.
As a result, when timber is harvested each year, the income is distributed to the respective ministries in proportion to the value of their contributed tracts. This approach provides ministries with regular, annual income rather than sporadic revenue every 15 years or more.
the need
For the fund to operate efficiently, it requires an initial size of approximately 10,000 acres. Our hope is that 10 to 20 donors will join us in achieving operational efficiency by donating 500 to 1,000 acres of timberland to the fund. Smaller tracks of land are also welcomed and appreciated.
